The Paulineitus Blitzkrieg rolled the Little Pointless PM it seems, scared of the Dubble-D he caved in while Ha-Ha Harradine is said to have pulled a fast one, seems he brokered the split in the conservative ranks, Labor was left out as well, and another mess in the Little Kitty Litter's term of Office shuffles the real Negotiations off to the States, spose they reckon they can rip off the Aboriginal Lands easier there, throughout it all the Aboriginals were given a sack of flour and a tin of soup and told to sit in the backyard while their interests were dispersed amongst the Tory Palefaces... Just be thankful that Serial Fatherer Senator Brian Harradine didn't appear in Aussies without Cossies, be interesting to know what he'd Hang His Hat On though, just being nosey...
Have to be enthralled sometimes with Clinton's Presidency, he smooths his way through China, and has everyone addled with his caressing words and yet saying all the Great American Dream of Freedom and Democracy mantra to placate the Religious Militants back home, and the Premier Jiang is a smiling face to relax a whole lot of tensions, so on the big scale of things these are thankful symbols, underneath it all though the can of worms is squirming, China is still a fabulous place, and China has the future in it's hands, and I reckon To Be Rich is Glorious ought to be: To be Sustainably Self Sufficient is More Glorious than a few crony billionaires...
And there was King Rupert giving vent from his scandal free ethics on what Australia should do being the Ally of the USA, and Rupert questioned just how much reliance you can have in the alliance, and used the 10 million refugees arriving in the dry sparse North? Water and food being the whole reason nobody bothered with this continent lest it was for banishing to, as an Out Of Sight Genocide... So Rupert was saying we ought to stand up for ourselves? Is he into a Wun Wonky Planet scenario? As a matter of fact how can Aussie's stand up for anything when we are being dictated to by large Globalised Corporations with bigger budgets than our whole Country?
Been preoccupied with so many conflicting ideals, the children though are the ones losing out innocently, the worst of the Eco-Ratism is falling on the children, the ideology creep away from Public Welfare to Noddyism, the office culture nowadays of shunning anyone who wants to rock the boat on job lifestyles, and the way society has turned on the young to kick them and blame them for being unemployed, and when the only jobs are to be servant class, the only industry being tourism for the young this is demeaning and revolting, to see stirrings among the kids in that Resistance Demo against the Little Disastrous Racist PM was an inspiration, and now those kids being the Frontline up at Jabiluka too, jailing them... And now the kids are demonstrating against the Nuclear Dangers in Sydney's Lucas Heights flirt with abominations and death...
Those kids are having to take up the Left Wing movement all over again, that's what King Rupert should be championing if he had any credibility, his credo is Anything For Business, what a rotten soul he is for that... He went out of his way to bust Unions, the only hope for the society, he bashed unions to death, now he's worried the house of cards will collapse... And it will... Don't Panic got said again this week when Japan Bridged it's Banks? Japan's dose of Restructuring medicine has produced this side effect of killing the whole system off, insecurity stifles demand, it's Eco-Rat-Poison which induces worries, which closes up wallets and purses and the short smiles downsizing placed on Stockholders will fade when commerce dries up and the snowball rolls...
On activists there was the story of Frederick Woulnough Patterson who never gave in, the SBS program on him had the history of Australian Politics woven through it, from the Labor dominated Queensland and the Communist banishment and the Tory Trickery all through, these historic sweeps are excellent stories for the following generations, you are always surprised to discover the amount of sameness and repetitive arguments and solutions and tactics and Kneejerks who populate the same groups in Society... But you have to admire the strength of character these activists have had, he was a great Australian was F W Patterson... An inspiration... So was that Red Ted Theodore, pity there isn't more history exposure for the young, but have you seen the Top Ten TV Ratings Busters? Cept for Seachange that is...
Small businesses pay more tax than chains which now control three times more of the market than the independents... So it's good-bye small businesses and their support web... It's bad business... Has anyone noticed that the larger and bigger the shops, the less jobs there are? The larger and bigger the corporation the less work there is? And the importation of slave trade production reduces opportunities for local manufacture? And the lack of jobs breeds the evils which allow the Dopey Drug War to employ the desperate?
And why then are the Wonky Wuns pushing this blame on the ethnics business? Why blame them? It's just plain racism, their conceited superiority uneducated childishness is behind it all... All that detail in the Wonky Wuns Immigration Policy is beside the point, they are the same mindset behind every cultural genocide, and they chant that new Mantra, Everyone should be treated equally, which has got one of those churchy sounding replies, and We are more equal than others... As long as they are all The same as us, and if they're not, well We don't want them here, and then Get rid of them? Well someone should ask Pauline about Her Final Solution? It's written in blood all through history...
Beautiful Winter mornings, the solstice came and went, Stonehenge was populated by bickering memories of reconstructionists in hoods, real Druids didn't turn in their graves and never will, all those little alcoves only lit by the sun on that particular day of Mystery-Misunderstood, and the day to start counting from spose, having an anchor in time from which the seasonal demands could be met, the cycles of life governing the natural lifestyles, no longer though in the hi-tech cities, just switch the heaters and coolers on, while the out of sight devastation out there in the deforested atmosphere, lacking the moist forest blotters for humidity, the dry heatwaves are burning off the remaining cover, these wildfires are worldwide now following the sun, just how "caused" is this phenomenon?
When once a green carpeted canopy would greet your view from space, soaking up rains and sinking into dark gloomy forest floors, steaming into the humid airs to produce the local weather patterns, it's gone, now there are huge weather systems affecting enormous areas on large scales, the developers and real-estate-growth people say Prove It, and the science has to be dithering at the edges, the tables should be turned, They should prove Their changing things wont cause the problems, what's the sound of blowing in the wind again?
Was a good night at the Politics in the Pub gathering, this time it was Sharing the Work - What can it Offer the Unemployment Crisis? And the speakers were contrasted a little more, driven by the same concerns though, had Ian Watson providing some down to earth actualities and ending up with some approaches, while Barry Lamb had a more Catholic approach, and amongst his several animated diversions voiced his perplexed views on having kids in catholic schools being told to sit there shut up and lissen, and then expected to go out into society and change it for the better... However although he copped a bit of flack, he was an excellent chap and meant well...
Seems the question revolved around there being less work to do and more people to do it and how you had to divide one by the other to achieve happiness, even mathematical geniuses like Einstein had written of the simple relationships required to maintain full employment... BUT... And the rest of the talk was about all the big Buts...
So to Barry Lamb it was simply that 8 million Aussie workers had to become 9 million Aussie workers, the Tories cry to Find Jobs didn't Create Jobs, but 8 Snowy Schemes would employ that Pressure Pool the Tories like to have begging... How training schemes still failed to create any more than eligibility to further courses! We're stuck with the same Beliefs, Fixations that poor Galileo had to confront with his explanations of planetary orbits, like remember that slavery was a very recent OK way to go, and still is in the third world... And the Catholic moral family of the nation approach, why can't we as a nation have the moral goodness of heart and soul to bring all the excluded into the national family to share at the meal table? Well why? There'd be some chance if we were all atheists, ha... And then some tragedies of factories closing like Berlei Briefs and Brassieres from Lithgow and once from Punchbowl too, gone... Sagging Drooping Dead and Dying towns and communities starved of pay cheques...
Was put forward by Barry Lamb that Workers would knock off early on Fridays and let the unemployed do the work... Question was: would the worker reduce his wage? And would the Employer pay the replacement? So it comes back to who pays? Apart from the skills required, and just how could an intellectual endeavour be taken over by another, midstream, and handed back again? However, lowering of working hours to absorb unemployed was on the Euro agenda, and Standard Hours adjustment is the big topic, it was also shown how through Japan's growth periods the working hours reduced smoothly right through, maintaining their cherished full employment... Till the Eco-Rat Poison struck that is...
Then Ian Watson plied us with studies and research results, found that the Half Time Workers were those that worked 12 and took 12 off, ha, and the lauded Bill Gates was a 6 hour turnaround man, home at 12 back at 6, terrific... Then how the pressure cooker worked on long distance drivers, and then the big problem, the office culture of Noddyism, the overtime put in to please the boss was mostly unpaid, the extended working hours were at no cost to the bosses, and those people soaked up the available work at the expense of the unemployed, so that 2/3rds of overtime was free! And the culture was Why employ anyone else when you can make this small number of overworked Noddys do more for free! Cause they're too insecure to complain with that big pool of hungry people out there copping all the blame for being lazy...
So with emphasis on skills which don't share well amongst workers the idea of swapping was put aside, and free overtime wont convert to new salaries... And organised labor gaining a foothold in the Office Culture is like Privatising Motherhood... So the exclusion falls on the lowest skills, who aren't organised and no one lissens to... And that other effect of insecurity during the wage stabilisation under the ACTU Accords was that demand dropped, steady wages seems to tighten up the wallets and purses too... Saving for a rainy day, Hmmm, looks like the rainy days are here to spend locked up in misery... So it seems that unless the Middle Class, who are disappearing, pushed for the fairness in distribution as in the past shifts, there is a certain doom in it all...
The attempts so far to share the work around have been nothing but marginal fiddling about the edges, like Life Matters on Our ABC has revolving hosts, if not one with his Celtic feet on the ground, and one waffling about looking for catholic heaven and angels and suffering still from being raised in madness, not to mention Geraldine's name... So the trend is to casualisation, in and out of work, temporary, at beck and call, take it or leave it...
The answers are few, to pay the overtime and to encourage Public Services are the quick fixes, but then Ian Watson put forward some ideas about workers being defined, everyone has a set of conditions and standards, the award system universalised spose, he reckons that the Status Of A Worker ought to be defined, the Times Scheduling should be set to cope with demands of life, there should be Portability and Pooling of workers as resources, so that shifting demands can be met, and there should be Phases of Life conditions for employment where there are different demands on people raising young children, older people, studying people, touring and single life, so that differing conditions apply through life and can be adjusted to suit...
So Historically Ian Watson reckoned the workforce had reached a sort of zenith in the early seventies and then gone into a lull where Neo-liberalism had whittled it all away under the guise of Competition Policy, and now we're facing another social revolution to think about winning in this rotten world of competitive worry wearied workers...
The discussion was warmed up though, there was the Resistance Activist Bob Gould of the bookshop fame doing a wound up speech for launching campaigns, and there he is popping up in the Sydney Morning Herald marking the resurgence of activism, he reckons we need campaigns for All Paid Overtime and for the lower 32 Hour Week... There was a quote from the first days of computing promising leisure hours would be a problem to fill once computers were doing all the work, ha... And of course the big problem is the small union membership, and they shun unionists, they have the Noddy culture of doing the unpaid work, and the unemployed can't strike, although some unemployed organised to stop trains in France... One bloke reckoned it was like being nailed into a box...
A spokesman for Aboriginals reckoned the Tory Ministers were thick as planks... Seems upwardly seeking voices to the ears of politicians are mostly met with the undeviating Party Line, and to Who's Lissening? Just realise you are not asked to participate...
But take heart, cause when there's a water shortage, or petrol shortage, the people generally accept rationing, but work? Not on your Nelly... That's a bit of Ostrayun, bonza eh... But then I've been completely Asianised already... And don't ask to Please Explain?
Matter of fact on the way home on the train this little wide eyed fella sat askew on the edge of his seat and the carriage emptied out and when all those new fashion SRA Security Officers? Security Guard it was, in the nice blue vests and silver trimmings, everyone must be getting them, like the Sydney Country Railway concourse had more Vests than passengers, must be the hours worked and such, is that productive labour? Saving us from frustrated workers thrashing about at society in general... Anyway this boy was unusual looking even in the diversity of Sydney and turns out he came from a Kingdom, was Buddhist, an autocracy of 400,000 people between Tibet and China, in the Himalayas and no trains, no trams, no buses, a few cars, no electricity and with a militant resistance, small world eh... Looks like that's where we're headed... They'll do well competing with their own soft drink in the Holy Market, and you can bet they got no oil wells...
Paulineitus has her beloved disciple, Thrown Out Office Worker Hazelton spilling the beans, reckons she's cataleptic, please explain, she actually said catatonic? There are "scenes" and shouting matches and that dictatorial purging and internal bile, and how Pauline has become hijacked by the triumvirate, the courtiers who manipulate her, who would have guessed... But it's a bit like the media leaks around the Princess Pauline and David Goldfield is playing Dodi? So who's driving the car? These Aussie Soaps are so much like real life now...
And the story from Irian Jaya or West Papua, what a tragedy, the original inhabitants, the Papuan Aboriginals are copping the cultural genocide of the most horrendous proportions, Dr Tim Flannery who's seen it all first hand paints that gruesome picture of extermination ethics, the clash results from Colonial Exploitation Hangovers between the Javanese Muslim Military from Indonesia, culturally modest and clothed and regarding pigs as vermin, these people are put in control of near naked natives with penis tubes and who regard pigs as a sort of precious national currency, these cultural gulfs are dealt with by the Indonesian Military shooting the indigenous people as lower levels of life and sticking a mosque in every village, that same racist disregard and cruelty that manifested itself through all those colonial regimes... Close your eyes and it will all go away...
Where's the Land of the Free when you want them? What if the Cultural Genocide was being done to Aussie Palefaces? Like King Rupert said, Who're ya gonna call? Well don't call Freeport Mines, which house, pay and support with vehicles and equipment, the Indonesian Military going way back... How come the New World Order can't put right these travesties in the deals for the brittle Indonesian recovery?
So the Little Whittled Down 10 Point Plan PM has been shown up, far from resolving the Native Title Debate the whole sham is being paraded about again, and the split in the Tory Conservative ranks is isolating the Mad Right Wing ever more, that faction got a blast from the best PM ever Paul Keating, a piece in the Sydney Morning Herald today had the phraseology of old, championing the moral issue, and putting the just position, and sounding the alarm bells when the Meddling Priests enter the debate "on behalf" of the Aboriginals, another helping hand from the Missionaries to remove the Aboriginals from their own land...
So hopefully the issue is far from dead, as Keating said the Tory States will try to take the Aboriginals to the cleaners, sooner or later... And then Why? What is all the redneck fuss about? Will a cow spot an Aboriginal on the horizon and make it's life unbearable? It's just a matter of fact that a Lease is not Freehold, unless you look upon it through greedy eyes of the Little Graziers Covenant... In the long run they wont win in the High Court... They've pulled the rug from under the Aboriginals, and only saved the Little Land Grabber from facing his comeuppance in the Dubble Diss, the Tory Party room blew up in his face, he knew he'd be dumped, and clutched for the Harradine straw...
Besides Labor has resolved to reopen the Native Land Rights debate when it gains power... These things can only be negotiated with agreements, Aboriginals included, it has to be Reconciliation which is validated in the High Court, until then the issue will flip-flop, but wont go away, there's no use having a Little Wait and See PM on this one, even when he's hobbled hisself with the Wonky Wuns, running the three-legged race debate...
Power Broker and Our ABC Stooge Kroogha reckons Sure-Bet Jeff's ideas about going federal feral, the Big Casino on The Hill for PM Jeff, and so who's got the numbers? They're lining up for the leadership, and it's Kroogha's Dog who is doing all the preening, imagine fleaing that, and when you think about who they all are, and what they all stand for, yuck, who's the next most sane Tory? Ummm... Look what we've had... Mr Menzies? the Red's Queen... All the way underwater with Where is he? Billy McMahon? Mental giant... Billy Sneddon? Died handsomely on the job... Am I Next Gorton? Hey this is fun, who's shout?... Malcolm Farmer Frazer? Learnt pinkoism on the job... Pretty as a Peacock? Hey look at me, this is very very serious, two-bob each way... DR? John? Nah, he was mad plus 15%... Golliwog in Net Stockings? Nah, he's a dill don't forget... Little Bigoted Twit? Speaks for itself... Self-ventriloquist... So it's the Toady Dog or the Casino Gambler from the South? Looks like Jeff got drunk on power, sobered up and now wants to go on another binge...
It's on the chopping block, the Goose that lays the Golden Egg, and lays it every year, the money, the revenue, the profits from telecommunications is the closest thing to printing money, and it's sought after by greedy people, rich people who want it all, the last bastion of Public Ownership with the richest revenue, the taxpayers put the network of wires and waves in, every time a call is made a fee is paid, it's manna from heaven, and the future relies on that network like railways once did, and the Tories want it, to get shares in the revenue from Telstra or Telecom or the PMG will be the sole soulless purpose in the Privatisation, and there the Tories go today promising sweeteners to get their rotten way...
A cry in the sparse wilderness to be part of Australia, connected reliably to the Public Services, will be ignored even more by the Big End of Town, having the Nats cave in on selling Telstra will see them chucked out... The whole point of Public Ownership is to give the Level Of Service to the public, it's no good to give the revenue to the Privateers exploiting a Public Asset... And Harradine says Well, don't vote for them, while he does... Jeeeeesus h christo... And the first thing they do will be to completely downsize Australia, because Telstra puts pay-packets into far-flung communities all over our beloved Australia, and those Tory Cruds want to ruin us all, they wont be satisfied till slavery is reintroduced while they swan about in their Tax Havens...
It's Time for a Seachange...
Could hardly believe your own ears lissening to the Senate debate on Telstra, and the haranguing the Nats copped, and the drivel the justifications were, and the prologue to the legislation was this list, a fascinating list, it sort of sets out all these duties of concerns that the $40 Billion Telstra will have to do once it's been sold for peanuts, to just the select few who can afford it, and Tory Senators who stood one after another in the Parliament to excuse themselves from voting because they held shares, and so took away the Non-Owners chance to vote, or the Real Owners: The General Public, having your rights treated like that, just ripped off, makes you feel how the Land Title claimants must feel, these people want to rip off the precious things the community calls it's own... And then the partially privatised Blunt says the Guvmint just has no say already, they've shelved responsibility and service and are chasing the revenue stream, and lie that it will reduce debt, the debt will be denied the income stream...
Sport, sport and more sport, and there's the final score, and what's next, what're they all playing, DeJa Vue? Or is it that you feel you've seen it all before, again... Teams and supporters and opponents, it riddles human life and spose it lets the steam out of nationalist pressure cookers and lets the hearts beat patriotically, you realise how grouped in association everyone is, and the power of the mob... Like in Business you have a Company, a group of shareholders elect a board? A group of Boards have an Association and lobby a Government, where Parties group to play with the power, and power grows with the strongest groups, but workers group and unionise and the ideological opinion makers drop on them... It's all in the game...
But the World Cup roars to an end, and Wimbledon is over again, 40 luv, and the Bledisloe Cup Rugby Union game goes to the Wallabies over the AllBlacks, Rah Rah, so good to see them mongrel each other, and the Orange FruitLoops bang their drums against the barricades for childishness sake, any decent grown up can see the idiocy these airheads in Northern Ireland are putting up, what a pack of jerks, the rest of the world looks on in wonder at these religious sectarian games, but they're no fun... So the triumphant Orange Outrage marching, what a crud act, over the bodies of three little boys of a Mixed Xtian Marriage ... In contrast the Tour de France has escaped to the real Ireland to kick off in Dublin, now that's real gutsy... All these preoccupations to distract people in the Global Village, but look at the gulfs in lifestyles and living standards, and then the spread of globalisation sameness as well... If there's a buck to be made, the Commonwealth Games In Malaysia seem to be dying from lack of interest... Aren't we all...
The Telstra Raiders have been held off, a tied Senate vote on the Privatisation, a rare Parliamentary victory, had all the elements, looks like the Democrats and Greens came through with integrity intact, the Meg Lees voice makes most sense on these issues, the Democrats have been undersold as a port in the storm, maybe some good publicity can soak up all those disaffected Bib and Bub deserters looking for the left wing... Privatisation means lower wages, worse working conditions, drop in standards, and slacking services for us, while a few people sit back not working and living on dividends and curse the unemployed for being lazy...
The Politics in the Pub this week was on Health Systems and contrasted the debacle in the USA with what we had here in Australia, still have the bare bones of, but under threat again from the damned Tories destroying everything decent we ever had in the fabric of Aussie life... And the admiration and respect you feel for some champions of the political debate came to the fore again with Con Costa GP, President of Doctors Reform Society, and Ian Webster Professor of Public Health, the disillusioned deserters ought to hear what the other side of politics has to say, particularly on Health, The Disintegration of Our health System - Facing the American Nightmare...... But these activists all extol us to support and push the arguments so Here we go, here we go, here we go...
To begin with the Aussie universal health Medicare system is preferred by Aussie people, and the Private Hospital sector has failed miserably, and is collapsing, it just doesn't work, it's just an ideological hangover, and even now will treat patients as self insured to have it done "now" for dollars or wait, and they're building Private Hospitals next door to the Public Hospitals to get that two tiered thing working, and drop off their cost consuming problems into the Public System, and cream off the Silly Rich who turn up... The last Tory tax kickback was just a sup to their own kind and the Private Funds are abandoned now, at the same time they're running down the Public System reckoning that will boost business for the Privates...
Private Patients are over-serviced and least need it, the "choice" in emergencies just isn't there, and it's GP's choice anyway for Specialists in the referrals system, the closed shop, but who get in on the Medicare money stream as well, it just costs so much more in the USA it's 15% portion, while the Aussie cost is but 8% still... And the Funds are for HMO's, Healthy Members Only, they spend hugely on screening potential members in the USA... And the USA Managers insist of treatments where patients can be discharged and still have drainage tubes to cope with at home... Sicker you are the less care you get...
The Tories opposition to Public Health is to create a crisis while the USA disaster is introduced here, and the people wont know what's lost till it's gone, and the money from the taxes into Medicare is for the common good, and the aim should be for a better system, but the Tories are bent on destroying it... The bulk billing and service fee piece work, the 6 min consultations, all go to destroying the patient contact and time for dealing with whole life situations, new doctors working on a salary for the first few years can spend the time, and new doctors get to work in Group practices to get the experience... And the State Spending Federal Funding debacles every year, cause heartaches...And how with Bulk Billing the Indigenous and impoverished groups will still be treated... And will Labor in Guvmint roll back the Tory subsidies?
Some anecdotes got told of the USA Nightmare where it's best not to get sick at all, how the standards all over were better here homegrown, like "Got your own Blood?" No such thing as the altruism of donated blood for free... How the Aussies ought to cherish what's left and rebuild it rather than let it be destroyed all the way with the USA Managed Care, where it's price and competition ostensibly rather than health care... Stories of the UK, NZ and Sweden who once gone conservative are cracking down on Private excesses, and are reversing the policies... Because Public Hospitals are driven by expectations of care, and handle the critically ill, and provides an equalised service to all, it's the only way to go...
The Fee For Service, and time is money, reduces quality, and security is lost, and focus on acute treatment leaves out Social Health services, and now Dental health cutbacks are creating a dreadful pool of pain, the privatised system relies on contracts and lack of trust, and why is there this emphasis on Competition as against Cooperation? Why? The Values System gone awry? Why not more tax spent for essential services like health? Having the credo to alleviate suffering and it's all gone with Who pays your oats... Funds are for profits and pathology tests and the concentrations in Eastern Sydney, the Robber Professions as against the best Public Systems...
And the lock out of Independent Nurse Practitioners from General Practice... How institutions such as Matthew Talbot for disoriented people and the dedication of some doctors and nurses, being destroyed by fee for service rather than salaried, and the special drugs and prices for mental disorders out of reach, How the other side of holistic medicine was only now being understood, how attitude has you looking older or younger, and the healthiest group was 7th Day Adventist but didn't know how to enjoy it, and the poor sods on price competition for appalling food in institutions now, there is just no joy... And there was a save Medicare Alliance being launched for the election campaign...
Duty comes first, put aside all that profit motive and greed and the survival of the fittest theory, it might well apply to biological evolution but not necessarily the best wins, in evolution some wonderful creatures have failed to survive, so the current obsession with change and restructuring being pushed based on some raw simplistic ideology isn't working to make human life better, it's a way to allow some devilish creatures to prevail over the others but it's not for the better... Streuth, these ideas get into that other realm of preaching, trubble is it's true, and turning away to enjoy it while you can, and closing your eyes... Well that's more of a cop out, in moments when it does matter and you shirk it... Every decent hypocrite knows that... That's the joke...
And there was poor me immersed in SeaChange on Our ABC, was all the talk at Politics in the Pub, seems people have the same ideas, that last episode turns up being on their dreams, was funny, the writers have told their stories, seems the Diver Dan script has him doing the female writer's tricks and then twisted with the male collaborator, and all these chords the show had struck with the Book-club and such, but then escapist stories had one where they'd relocate to the middle of Tassie, just down from Derwent Bridge, and get into the mould... Good spot if you didn't like the heat and preferred the cold, and coincidentally I had a dream of snuggling away in Stanley under The Nut once... That would have been a Seachange indeed... Or anywhere else for that matter... All's he needs is a starter...
Don't like the look of that scene at the Paulineitus meetings in Perth, has an ugliness, the gulf between those groups doesn't have to be so vast, it's inflammatory, stirs up the basic tensions, and Pauline is pushing buttons too, like Peter Garrett was a set up for her Please Explain, the split in society by the Little Fractured Windscreen, with the rejection of Telstra Privatisation, is madly grinned off, he's as bad as her, all this non-committal secrecy on tax and policy trickery, fancy having two mad buggers in the limelight at the same Time, JH and PH, Dumb and Dumber...
Tasmania, the once beautiful isle, suffering from humanity, a bit more mania now to torment it, the schizophrenic basket case of Colonial Exploitation, where the extremist bigots rule and the Angelic Atheistic Saviours of the Greens Movement battle for the decency of a sustainable future... Heard how the State Guvmint wants to reduce the number of seats in Parliament, this will knock out the presence of the Greens and the future unregistered Wun Notion possibilities, it's a proportional system of sorts so the fewer seats the higher numbers of votes you need, it's only half a million people and dropping, yet they have so much say in the Senate, a seat is going to approach 16% now, as against 18% for the Senate? Well why not just have 50% then? Just two seats for Bib and Bub?
And this change is of a constitutional nature but will be rammed through by both major party's support, and no referendum, no democracy... As well the Hydro Electric Generation is on the chopping block, into three pieces already, for the ownership transferred by privatisation into the hands of the rich, they will have the power... The Greens voice is Christine Milne, she speaks with the Ultimate Truth of all the Pollies, her and Bob Brown, the future is only viable if it's Green... And it's the Green Voice that this undemocratic Tory Trickery, with Labor instigation as well, is attempting to silence, and the Little Bigoted Twit is behind it all as well... If Labor votes for the eradication of other voices in the political process, then Labor is pissing on the Light on the Hill, if ya ask me...
The News is full of threat, the seats that could be lost in the next election, the real people who are in the government parties, both sides, to be democratically removed, no-one is safe with this revolt, and it has the very worst overtones of racism like tonight from Perth she's saying Well if you want to be like them then move over there... Well look, we're not racist, but... So there's talk of removal, from there you go to harassment to make them move, from there you go to expelling them, and from there you go to rounding them up and concentrating them away somewhere, and from there... You start wishing it had all never started, that we kept the pretense of tolerance out of a sense of it's for the best, it's well-mannered, it's more friendly, it's less threatening and intelligent, you get all the good foods...
Reminded me of Armageddon scenarios made up with Houie over a cup of tea, ideas for a futuristic plot, where the mighty powers of Asia are forced to seek space for 200 millions or so, and make edicts about Australia, and there's no choice, and the forces are overwhelming, even for those armed Scouts up North, and the Aussie "Race" was on the receiving end, and they knew you'd been rude, and the boot was on the other foot... Again...
So Japan has collapsed into recessive instability, lost the confidence of the people, the Prime Minister goes, so what do we do? They go ask the Holy Market! All these heads turn up speaking for the Holy Market! It will be happy if they do this and that, it will be unhappy if they get that other bloke as PM, it will have convulsions if they do the unthinkable and not give tax cuts to the rich, as against redistributing wealth to the consumers who spend it... What the Holy Market will do is run away, desert them, and let them die off, and protect itself, then move in like a pack of vultures, and in the meantime act like a child playing with matches...
The Ex-Black-Jack McEwan Party is in revolt. The Nats are always revolting, ha... But Ostraya needs happy farmlands, and healthy rivers and forests, and weed and feral controls, and needs local towns fully serviced, with communications and health and education services, freight and finance, and the tolerance for the Native Title Holders to access and travel over their lands where Grazing Leaseholders stick to their agreements, and the maintenance of wages and Public Services held in place by Unions and the operation of Farmland Produce held in the Co-Operatives to ensure they get a fair go too, like Geoff Pain reckons Farmers Should, which I put up on the Guestbook hoping he wouldn't mind, and to reverse the Big-City trend... And this Big Picture can be got to by following the notion, the one notion of Co-Existence, that compound word maybe the best one for the new Australia, to push for Co-Existence...
With Co-Existence you get Public Services in the necessities of life, Private Small Businesses involved in the diversity of supply and demand markets, and small means jobs all over, the good riddance of Supa markets and such... Besides Co-Existence is what we have to live with historically, and it's there already, if not almost extinct, and it worked, proved by all the nostalgia for Pre-Eco-Rat days, was not until the Eco-Rats brought in the competition policy dog eat dog ethics and bottom line technology, when it all went wrong and let these festering Paulineitus sores flare up like Wun Nasty Nation, that poison comes from the neglect and indifference from the Globalising Holy Market Junkies, that's the worst addiction they've pushed...
The single day sitting of Parliament had a questionable Question Time and the argy-bargy was on why? Was strange today... Seems it all fell flat when Sinkers took on a new slant as Speaker, he wielded a different wig, he seemed to be a Nat again, out of Coalition, and the rulings were going against the Little Bigoted Twits mob I was noticing, when he then ruled out of order the Dorothy Dixer on Paul Keating! Saying as how individuals activities were not for the Parliament to judge! And Kim was spot on about the tax policy not being a done Coalition deal either, The Worst Little PM Never-Ever, had ruined their sweetheart GST deal, certainly is changing times... So then the poor sod Tim Burgermeister did a bit of fire walking over the Telstra sell out of the people, how Tim rolls over like a dog to get some platitudes while the Telstra Raiders want to rob the country blind, poor Tim, he's a goner...
There's other things to talk about too... Plus all the Our ABC Life Matters stuff which I don't write about much, but should, they had all that Man and Son relationship trubble, gone awry in Australia, men don't provide role models, boys are lost, they even have a surrogate Uncle thing starting up for single's sons, and it's harder cause of the pedophile scare and dysfunctional men anyway, it's these sort of troubles that lay at the bottom of a lot heartache and suicides and just plain sadness, poor buggers don't enjoy life... And stems from the insecurities of Eco-Ratism...
Don't you reckon there'd be a revolutionary change when these things are pointed out, like I thought once he'd realised there was no god that he expected everyone else to catch on too, I was sure once, that god would die away, and his life wouldn't have any of that rubbish in it, but it's worse, change of mind seems to come slowly, it's a bad case of wishful thinking...
But in the case of Paulineitus it ain't revolutionary change, it seems to have been simmering resentment for a long time, the idea that Elites were running the Politics, that the non-academic uneducated sods in the sticks were of no account, it's all so obvious in hindsight, but the tide has turned, if they don't do what Pauline wants they're gone... And they don't wish it bad on the blacks, but, will turn a blind eye so they get those other things they really want... It's insidious, but real...
Don't you reckon another picture of Australia is emerging, maybe from the Keating Big Picture we've now got this other Bigoted Bitchy Picture, the Big Picture people don't like the Wonky Wuns who clap her outrageous Send Them Back type words... She's on the campaign trail and barging through from what I Saw, and there is hardening support for her, like she's breached the wall of silence and whoosh, that is scary, there will be such hot emotions stirred up... Difficult to pick, but she's getting media coverage still, more so than the others... She has the winners are grinners look about her now, it's incredible...
And like Me, Margot Kingston on Late-Night-Live was tired of it all too, just too much and was fed up with the tension... She was wondering what would happen now, there is nothing certain, it's like the Coalition is busted and Labor supports all Pauline's positions in effect, but can't bring itself to say so... Now it gets to the point of her militaristic fashions, and red headed colour clashes, and security entourage, and the saturation of her 10 second faux pas replays which just goes to show She's one of us unequal non-elites down trodden by Aboriginals... She is powerful... The peoples power at work.. But look someone has to sit around doing nothing while these adventurers are out there taking risks, someone has to make the tea to talk... Time for a cuppa...
Push for Co-Existence...
Talking of Tea and Twittering, there isn't any birdsong, it's a silent Sydney Winter, been noticing the disappearance, firstly of the those India Mynahs, the yellow bandit faces are gone, and so did the Native Minas and so have every other bird cept Sulphur Crested Galahs, and it turns out the native black and white Currawongs have moved into city life and taken over, and stayed as against their normal migrations... Their methodology is to remove all other eggs from the diverse nests, just a few Cuckoos manage to live on by infiltrating the Currawong's nests, so Cockatoos living in hidden holes is best, the suggestion was to lace a whole population of Currawongs with a humane poison, and soon, but some ladies of the suburbs have adopted the birds as pets, and wont be budged, so while the machinations of immigration take over the Wonky Wuns Debates, at the local level there's a native bird genocide going on caused by the very presence of the colonial invasion... There's a lesson in that for all of us somewhere... Something to do with a resulting lack of diversity...
But hearing the Reconciliation talk last night at Politics in the Pub brought out the patriotism, and the subjective feeling for justice and righteousness, which falls flat on the ears of the Paulineites, so after being fired up with enthusiasm to do something, to patch up the horrors of the Paulineitus National sickness, it came down to What do we do? How do you handle it, and if you ever do get a chance to speak and air your opinion, what can be done?
Well I reckon it's treatment of the causes again, you've got to cure the causes, no use fiddling with soothing the outrage, it just encourages it like a spoilt brat gets worse, that this nasty human nature to erupt snarly at the weakest when there's a shortage to be shared, it's an animal instinct to grab what you can get from the rest when there's a deficiency and hard times, so to be genetically successful down through the generations the human nature to keep for themselves when things are tight is what you are up against... The pecking order of the tribe decides that those on the bottom aren't wanted and kicks them out, or just leaves them out... It's how the Colonisation of Australia got started, and provided them with new bottom rung of Terra Nulius Aboriginals to continue the tradition...
So to get rid of it you have to address and remove what makes them feel threatened, the oppression from The Elite again in this current Ostraya Australia... It's a world wide phenomenon that's rife under the Globalisation Eco Rats, it's their simplistic ideology that set it up, and it's philosophical too, if you promote competition as being the way to go, then inevitably you'll have competition between groups, families, brothers and sisters, mums and dads, divided by competition, what the hell for when you could be cooperative? Cheapness is all... Ethics dissolves, call it PC or good manners, and the racism will always grow from that...
The first thing is get rid of is competition, it you want to make things cheaper and efficiently, then use your brains and inventiveness and cleverness, to produce a better result in quality, but you can't use competition between peoples' standards of living to do it... There has to be a set certain sure standard of living to take racism out of the equation, those people can't help themselves picking on the weakest, now that is the truth and undeniable, but you try and get the politics from both sides to agree, a true bipartisan ship of state, and the Wonky Wun Nasty Nation will dry up, cause kids will have futures and interesting lives with a sense of surety, and the competitive friction wont be there...
So that's the goal you have to start with, and it's simplistic, but having confrontational competitive policies which allow the rich to get rich and the poor to get poorer, and especially the Once Who Were Rich to get poorer, by a new class of greed, then you will always get racism... So who's gonna preach that sooky stuff in this political debate, and then, why can't they love the Aboriginals and all the diverse peoples when the living standards let them? No reason at all...
So I reckon it is Competition Policy which makes people fight for survival and get nasty, they wouldn't normally, but when pushed and cornered, they get offensive and fight, the name calling and bitchiness and blame is the first outbreak, in Aussie it was preceded by this quiet Politically Correct period of bottling up, but was whispered about in mutterings, inarticulate and uninformed, and hung on stereotypes, and then became blatant around the drinking holes and barbies, that's why we drop our old friends, why families stop talking, why knives got to be banned... Where's me Equinox Swedish Army nail file?
The underground whingeing is just so relieved to be let out when Paulineitus provides the opportunity, and she's just the messenger, the pressure valve, an ideal symbol for it as it turns out, the stereotypical firebrand in bright colours, the Angry Wasp, White Anglo-Saxon Protestant to be sure, irate and inarticulate waffling and whinges, and finger pointing... Cripes she turns up in black and yellow stripes to do the wasp publicity act after the latest riot... Makes ya feel sorry for the decent red-heads...
It's the same racist flare up all over the world with different targets, it's racism everywhere developing out of the Economic Turmoil, so if everyone has it all round the world it's just silly and shortsighted to blame the local thorns that catch the flack, it's the whole system of Capitalist Competitive Globalism and Free Trade, and that bluddy Holy Market, no one is using Philosophy, lest you can make a buck...
So the Politics in the Pub had Aiden Ridgway, the NSW Democrats Senate candidate, who will probably be vying for the 5th Quota against Pauline's David Goldfields... Another speaker was the Wonderful Wendy McCarthy the energy behind WIK-Ed and Women for Wick, taking up the crusade to the Leafy RSL Suburbanites, excellent clear thinking, collecting converts with conviction like Alex Shand QC, and the final speaker was the Great Rick Farley, formally of the NFF, a most honourable man to have championed what he sees as the rights and justice, and of the true respect for the dark history of Colonising Australia, he deserves and got an ovation, and he, with Linda Burnie, speaks excellently on the whole Aboriginal Reconciliation Problem... To have these clear and righteous minds seeking justice is tremendously hopeful, and without that greedy baggage and self-interested agendas, although it's of benefit for all of us in the long run...
The wish to live in respectful peace, where no one is aggrieved enough to want Wun Nasty Nation Reactionary Parties to gang up and with kick butt type policies, those disappointments to the National Pride, and not interested in facts, We don't care, we just want to get our own back on them? And who do they pick on? The bottom rung of the ladder, the last ones aboard the life raft, they stamp on the fingers of those poor suckers hanging on the edges... And it gets you nowhere but into more conflict, cripes it's happened time and again...
That meddling Priest Brennan didn't show up, even though the Reconciliation Debate was providing a safe place for speaking, seeing as how the lips were being sealed in other places, workplaces were divided, homes, families, clubs, city and the bush, so to openly speak out on all sides was a healthy move, and many people had come to the fore and expressed themselves on the deeply held emotional reasoning that brought them to support the Aboriginal Reconciliation, it was personal feelings and a duty, and was full of good will, and the leadership would flow on into other's minds and lives...
There was so much to say yet it's another dimension of human nature, so it was the need to mobilise and they mentioned Our Nation Australia as a focus point for the movement in the campaign... The problem was, as Eva Cox pointed out from all the surveying she does, the average people just don't know, they really haven't got an opinion cause of lack of informative opinion, it's all conflicting in their minds and comes out on the side of prejudice...
So it's revolution time, they buck the boss, kill the king, death to the emperor, follow the general, worship the messiah, go blindly into battle and desperate enough to change their vote... That's why you have to have some leadership to recognize what human nature is, and the Eco-Rats have missed the human dimension, ignored finite resources, ignored real costs, social and environmental costs left out, they're bluddy idiots and yet carry the highest education awards, but it's the MBA's who've created this wave of racism, it's basic living standards and wealth distribution and interesting lives, and not cheap and nasty prices in Holy Markets...
Was talking to this soldier on the train, and he brought up a few things to talk about, a really decent young bloke from a seven member family, had three younger sisters and Mum had wanted another kid before the menopause, and he mentioned the rotten food the Army got from the outsourcers, and then went on about the government providing things and what did I reckon? Well it was Don't ever let private people get theirs hands on your water or power, and your public schools and hospitals and your Public Services cause those private people wont be looking after you they'll be looking after themselves, and when it's Public at least you can vote them out, and he agreed...
His only real beef was the food quality, and like I said, why can't those simple pleasurable things in life be made possible instead of this penny pinching cheapness, Hospitals, and Meals On Wheels, and the Army, all suffering from meanness of spirit...
This soldier had done training all over the place, and played the enemy and reckoned it wouldn't be too hard to win, cripes, and they'd done exercises with live ammo, and knew what a bullet sounded like whizzing over your head... And never did the politics of Asia, it was all confidential hush hush y'know, and was soon going to do three months in Muslim Malaysia, facing the culture of religious rules on drinking and such, was pleased someone in Sydney finally spoke to him, coming from the friendlier South Coast, cause he'd been out in the wilds on maneuvers and you can get awfully homesick...
So you bring in Competition and end up having everyone fighting with one another and then act surprised? Streuth, all those chastened minds that came through World Racist War II knew that, and they set up the structures to deal with it, and it's all been whittled away till the roller coaster is ratcheted way up on top again, just like the other big boom before the Depression, what a pack of turkeys... The elastic band between rich and poor being stretched to breaking point, and the Wonky Wuns are the first to snap...
On Our ABC, heard Background Briefing do Public Education and it's travails, and also heard Occam's Razor do the economy, excellent, listed out the knock on effects of When you do this, and then that will result, and this is where we are, and the thinking about cheapness, the idea that the cheapest is best for the whole world, for those with money it might be for a while, have to dig the transcripts out... Then this arvo heard the older teachers talk, and the missing education nowadays, one of them went into the teaching of philosophy through literature, was excellent, how it led into morality and politics and history, and she'd look forward to school every day as would her students on a voyage of discovery... Even the nuns admitting the stories could hold the little faces' attention like nothing else, even the big stick...
But under the Eco Rat Ideology that's all changed, what the future is supposed to be is each school to be run on business lines, advertising, employment contracts, sponsors, facility upgrades on financial borrowings, and corporate planning mission statements, and competing for students with rich parents, what happens to education or schools who lose the competition? Who cares, bad luck...
And society wins a divided nation of students who are saddled with more differences and misunderstandings than ever, it's an abysmally bad idea, the Public School system is the salvation for a Diverse Nation, to become aware of one another, and keep the dialogue open and friendly, these Privatised institutions introduce an early Apartheid into Aussie life which will be for the worst later on...
Channel Nein had the horror story of the Rich Indonesian's Privatised Army torturing the locals who live where the money is, what a cop out it is for the Free World to let these thugs terrorise the locals for money, sounds familiar though...
The other thing I was day dreaming about was the Gun Buy Back and the Timorese, what would happen to the attitude of the Islamic Indonesian Army if all those indigenous victims of theirs had those Ostrayun guns that were handed in, going into the Little Fiery Furnace election coffers? Which is going to back fire on him... While the militants recoil, and have secret hoards in organised gun clubs anyway, regardless?
And then once Foreign Oppression is overthrown, freedom won with guns, how would the Timorese settle down again? With their own brand of gun-barrel domination, like the Indonesians themselves? Seems at first glance the Timorese were owed by Australians for WWII help they gave, and yet we do nothing, cause we have the oil and trade and peace, but those Exploiters from Indonesia are doing a genocide on land they have no rights to... Cept barrel-of-the-gun rights... If you were overrun and no-one even smuggled you a gun to help, would make life difficult wouldn't it... Year after year being oppressed... How can they be helped otherwise, it's wait for the revolution, and seems a referendum might come at last, in the meantime you see the women raped... Hmmm... The Good Neighbour policy is it...
Was good to see the little bloke from Adelaide lead the Tour de France, you've gotta be pretty good to get in front of that mob, but then the drug thing took the glare, and the Team's Sponsor complained, and wants to sue the Referee, it's another debacle, wonder if one day there will be sponsors sued by competitors dying and long term disabilities and such, there used to be amateur sport once where people used to enjoy themselves, now it's back to the Coliseum and Gladiatorial Competition to the death, can't bear to watch, besides video technology could have all the crowds' thumbs turned down, you just can't believe your eyes...
Thinness, the small human perception of the big sky, and deep ocean, and thick crust, yet it's all relative on planet earth, to just a thin skin, like an apple, a few kilometres of crust and you've got the molten ball of plastic rock, a few kilometres of air up and you can't breathe, most people travel further in suburbia to their place of work than you can go up or down and live, and the oceans are just puddles really, shallows in the scheme of things, and the earthquakes only move a few metres and the Tsunami are away, those poor people at home in the tropical paradise, and the sea rises and thunders in, sweeping helpless kids and parents into the turbulence, incredible forces that nature imposes, inescapable, it's a risky business being alive...
The aftermath for the Papuans up there is just tragic, there's an innocence there though, wonder what it will be like when the absolutely expected next earthquake will shatter San Francisco again... And the volcanoes waking here and there with populations climbing their slopes?
Like bidding up the prices of Internet stocks for ventures that are losing money, like Yahoo is some 430 times earnings, and the buyers of these stocks have some blind faith in a magic voodoo technology, fancy confusing investment with stock market bidding up prices, anyone remember Poseidon Nickel? Just a gambling pot that will be swept away as well, Tsunami style... Where does a Tsunami go?
And another tidal wave down in wonderful Melbourne, the demonstration against Wun Nasty Nation has provided another media romp of publicity for that Pomeranian Woman, like a yappy dog she is, Spencer is it? She wants people sprayed with poison, and to use water cannon, and spews on the cops for going soft, the Vic police are fascist enough without her egging them on, but strategy wise it doesn't seem to help, cause I did the Demos at the PHONP meetings and it turns out better to ignore them, or turn your back, but confrontation seems to breed ratbags who go too far... But bugger all Wonkies showed up in Melbourne, see, there's nothing like keeping people home from attending Won Nasty Nation meetings than a good job and full belly and contentment...
It's best to hold simultaneous but separate demonstrations, with Multi-Cultural Music and Food and put on the happy face of co-existing, so while the sourpusses are doing the Wonky meetings the decent Aussies are enjoying themselves, that will give the better shots for the TV cameras than some cretin with a cut head waffling on about thugs... Just think what a better picture it would make for the demos to be singing and dancing and pigging out while those brainless twits have to listen to the nasal Queen Bee... You know what would be a good tactic, to put on an alternative Speech by someone with a red-wig... Like Rod Quantock or Godfree Bigot or anyone and everyone in drag for instance... Would love to see that... Dye a mop...
Heard another Life Matters program on bullying, the methods are to avoid giving the bullying any spectator support, to side with the victim by standing closer, to introduce a Stop that, you are hurting me! as a loud response, and the deconstruct of The Dob In, the young ones can give Orchids And Axes, each day at the close of school the Orchids are awarded by the kids to other kids for being helpful, and Axes are awarded to kids who have been seen causing other kids problems, just bringing it to attention in front of all the others, cripes sounds like gossipy censorship till you realise it's spoken outright for all to judge and not whispered behind backs, is that the Oprah Winfrey technique, exposure?
And the main tactic was to get the bully alone and to elicit an acknowledgment of the pain they've caused, just having them admit it, the punishments weren't helpful... Whatever happens, someone has to intervene to assist, the kids in isolation can end up ruined, and the bully's don't make good citizens either... Spose it has an attention seeking element, and a gang mentality of membership and that terrible childishness of picking on the weakest, sounds like Wun Nasty Nation... Heard Pauline say how she'd been pushed over in the sand pit which hardened her attitude...
The stories came in how Mum's would say I'll keep you home today darlin', and Dad's would teach you to fight down the shed, but one bloke said how his school was bullying him to the extent he was framed for misdeeds, and copped a school punishment of having to wear a certain coloured shirt, and was forbidden certain privileges like the school canteen, by standing outside in the shirt of shame, he found himself a sort of hero, and the other kids would bring food for him, he didn't even have to pay for, and the bullying stopped completely, one woman who rang in confessed how she teased and bullied and made life a misery for another student who had to move schools, Geraldine catholicly absolved her? The unforgiven... One woman rang in, and her two kids had been bullied, one succeeded by self esteem, the other who was physically handicapped committed suicide...
The Toady Treasurer Bully however has threatened the Little One-Term PM for lack of leadership, and the Smarmy Smart Aleck has gone into self preening mode again, the tongues are wagging, there's absolutely no one amongst the Tories at all with a dream, like Pauline said, and she keeps hitting chords amongst all her discords, The Toady Treasurer is an Economic Rationalist, they are confined to history already, anyone sprouting competition and deregulation and privatisation and free trade is a cooked goose, a done dinner, a dead parrot, a feather-duster, yesterday's man, a hopeless joke...
As proof as how out of touch this Tory Treasurer Toad is, the latest furore to wipe out Petrol Service Station Small Businesses with his oil open cheque for the Big Chain Store Supa Markets, the No Choice Competition Policy, has blown up in his face, it's another outrage, every tactic they launch is shot down in flames, they just don't speak for the general public, everything they do is going against the grain, people don't want what the Eco-Rat-Poison put up as the way ahead, there are so few winners and the rest of the country loses... The first concern in the Public Debate is the loss of jobs involved, it will kill off more society, it will create more votes against that brand of exploitative government, can't they see the writing on the wall? Have you noticed now who's not lissening to who? The Little Lack of Leadership has lost the agenda, the famine war pestilence GST is next, ha, the cartoons have the 51% empty Telstra pork barrel, and now there's the back stabbing, such gleeful times for heretics...
Can you imagine a Government of National Unity? A combined Lab/Lib coalition against Wun Nasty Nation? Seems to be what Malcolm Pinko Frazer reckons, be interesting to see the Bib and Bub Ministry, be interesting to see the Opposition Leader perform, be pathetic for the decent country which we once prided ourselves on... Having to drop everything to fight off a racist inspired madness with anti-intellectuals, just hope the light can be shone on the consequences, maybe that's what Picture Images ought to be put forward, the type of disaster which might befall us with thoughtless democracy saddling the country up for what could lead to a sort of war of civility if not civil war...
Images of the hopeless Tories, the Senator of selling Telstra All-Stone shoving a Jabiluka protester out of his way, with that bullying attitude coming through all their flip flops and rip-offs, and the Conservative C perceptibly biased High Court Judge being removed by his own peers, and justly so, and the idiot pictures of the Toady Treasurer launching himself into space to challenge the Little We've got No-One Else PM, whoops, what about Sure-Bet Jeff? What a joke they are, and what is next on the debacle list? The secret unannounced for twelve months un-supportable un-sellable tax package that is prejudged and prejudiced, that no matter what's in it no one wants it, just call the election and get buried, that's all the Tories have to do, then disappear...
The blackest day in Tasmania's history since they killed the last Aboriginal, there's goes democracy, they've cut the number of seats, the minority parties are now cut out of the power sharing... Christine Milne of the Greens would make a good PM...
One of the great Australian Stories on Our ABC about the Union Leader from WA, there he is putting his best foot forward in life and he had this strange history as the son of a man who was dropped on a gallows, hung to death... But the nine year old son of his domineered but solid mother, went to school that day, and went on from there, Tony Cooke organised the protests of the Unions in Perth and used his brains, he's worked it all out and knows what's what, come to terms with the infamous deeds of his deformed father and got on with it, those sort of people driven by doing good do do good...
Was reading about talk at the Big Table in Europe where it was said all the pointless whimpering about the possible political consequences prompted What's for Dinner Kohl to regret that the Doubting Thomases never had had the chance to know his mother, a marvelous woman who was as wise as she was strong-minded, who taught her children to eat the meals placed in front of them on the kitchen table without objection or complaint. "We learned to clean up our plates," Kohl said, Germany had cleaned up its plate and accepted the financial discipline required by the Maastricht Treaty, And now it was time for everybody else in Europe, to clean up their plates. The Euro was good for people and the sooner they learned to like it, the better. Seems the Doubting Thomases on the Union Picket Lines just get the empty plates...
Heard where despite the many wonders of modern technology, working people everywhere were being forced to pay a heavy price, and unless the global economy could be reconfigured to supply the needs of the many as well as the comforts of the few, then the nations of the earth could look forward to a response in the new millennium that "may make the 20th century seem tranquil by comparison." The seeds of destruction are all there, the wealth inequality, the dispossessed, the Holy Market Madness, Fundamentalism armed for Armageddon, the Fascist uprisings, the one way traffic Media Mania, the crash is already here for the suiciders... Someone to set the spark off, and we will be blown away, how many minutes to midnight? Time for a cuppa, garlic and some fruit juice... Achooo...
Been so many things on poor My mind and seeing as how the winter of discontent in politics is fueled by a dose of the flu, things slip by, but there's a been a big lapse of media glare, seems the Paulineitus has let things go by, or the Media has taken sides or there just aren't any voices in the Media who dare, cept Margot Kingston and Robert Manne, but how come the Big Tory Lie about Everyone cept North Korea had sold their Telecoms? And the fact is, The Truth Is, most of the Europeans have retained majority control, with Germany having one of the highest?
How could Snaky Senator All-Stone and the Toady Treasurer get away with misleading the Australian Public to such an extent, it shows the Tories are representing a wealthy class who want to get their hands on the revenue stream, like I have been saying all along... And by the way they still do... The Tories are intent on robbing the Public blind of all the Publicly Owned and paid for Assets, it's plain robbery and wont be any problem to reverse cause it's criminal...
So who in the Media has Telstra shares? Who in the Media were saying it was a Master Stroke regardless of the Public Opinion Polls? Who was crowing about selling Telstra to a small wealthier minority who could afford it? Who in the Media ignored the plight of the services blight in the Bush? Besides Your Our ABC catholic morning and arvo announcers preoccupied with self-interested pre-crash prices...
They had a show on Lateline last night on "Television" itself, the friend you invite in to your home to teach your kids manners, the story went that Friends and Neighbours and the sitcoms, became the pseudo social life for the billions of the X-generations, there was no book reading, there was no imagination or participation, the art of conversation and thought and understanding was supplanted with dysfunctional role models, the 10 second sound bite and the smartarse retort, and aim of the commercial salesman to ingratiate hisself into the prospects' life in order to relieve them of their money is all, the woman who niggled the Turn It Off Proponents displayed the horrible nature of people who've picked up a Suddenly Seinfeld media personality about nothing ...
And catch them young, they now have the Telly Tummies? Something soft and cuddly and baby-like with a screen in the belly, specially to capture the mind of the 6 month baby, the developmental nerve pathways in the brain never get to be laid down, the clumsy kid who can't catch, think, read, write or imagine of the future... Remember realising the comparison with say a Historian, a professorial mind full of the stories of history, philosophy and politics, and the dumb downed fan of the television soapy stuff, the amount of knowledge is massive, they know the names and stories and situations and themes, and it amounts to a Master's of television trivia, what a waste, cept for Seachange that is...
At the same time, finally, cause I was saying this years ago, there's a Point And Click education trend, you Drag And Drop the missing phrases into the gaps in the text, and ding! Success, the students progress at their own pace and there's an understanding implication in advancing to the next stage, seems an excellent way to learn factual stuff, but actual deep thought? Handwriting? Your own words, or being able to make a good guess... It's all the rage though, and the kids do get engrossed, spose it's all to do with content... Then heard the lowly Lord Pommy Archer babble on, but he puts himself into handwriting, a two hours on, two hours off, regime all day, that seems to be a good idea, lordy lordy...
Looks like there has to be a new set of Aussie goals, how else can you prosper in this changing world, it's not working now... There is all this Aussie talent, inventive, and egalitarian, the laid back good life, or it was, so they said, now there is a capitalist system imported from Elsewhere, written by the Elites? The Eco-Rat Astrologers evoked it, forcing change and encouraging confrontation and cut-throat competition and makes heroes of those who seek maximum short-term personal profits, it's to hell with community...
The Eco-Rat World Order is scary, the exact opposite of the rich, busy, tolerant, and confident environment, you need for people to work out better ways of doing things, the right idea is to cut out the hard work... Leisure Life cannot exist without creative people producing and championing new ideas within full employment, by exploiting innovation to create unemployment is the crucial madness... It's no good having lots of good people if they can't take part at work, the workplace is society, it's everything...
It now seems that globalisation combined with free trade and financial deregulation has been an expensive mistake. First things first, you've got to have a strong domestic economy before you can build up to exporting... Global markets play it rough, unless you are largely self-reliant and set your own prices, they will exploit you shamelessly... Your price contains your living standards and education costs and health costs, you have to maintain your price standards, these cost cutters have insisted on taking the costs out of our prices, but then it's our living standards that get cut, they don't care they've got their foot on the corporate salary escalator...
Besides, in the long run wont every other country want to reduce it's reliance on imports? Inevitably wouldn't everyone want to be self-sufficient? Who wants to be indebted to or dependent on any foreign supplier? Why have a goal of exporting to people who eventually don't want to be your customer, what are you chasing? The end of the rainbow? Reduced tariffs have destroyed much of the local industry, and increased the import dependency, and the explanation is that people in other countries wont buy our goods and services, well that's inevitable and the whole point... And they already don't want to buy our stuff, they prefer to make their own, and then buy the cheapest till that supplier country also puts the correct price on it's produce, this cost cutting game is the joke... Reintroduction of tariffs is what the wise ones are saying, while King Rupert is predicting it, the trade war is almost back on, oh really? Was it ever called off? So what do you do in a trade war? You buy and sell things just like it always was, cripes...
The primary concern must be a varied and thriving domestic economy which provides full employment security for those willing and able to work, especially with regard to full-time jobs... And you don't get the best quality work from employees forever fearful and insecure about their future... The domestic market is the rock on which the foreign market is built from production over the domestic requirements, and taking into account the environmental carrying costs too...
And how about using some of the $25-billion a year of compulsory superannuation payments invested in new businesses, a non-inflationary way to grow the economy and expand employment, right now it's inflating prices for shares and real estate... And those high flyer salaries are pumping up the Bull Market like there's no tomorrows... Take a futures contract out on that...
Demand drives Economies. If governments increased their spending, and increased taxes like tariffs, and spent on good quality Aussie products and services, and if superannuation funds used savings to promote local commerce and industry, then employment targets could be achieved...
Unemployment is the greatest evil to society, and the primary goal of economic policy should be the highest level of employment possible... Unemployment is largely a matter of choice by Government, you have to insist on full employment, that choice for a pool of unemployed is an ideological basket case idea...
The choice to insist on low taxes. This choice has starved governments of funds, encouraging them to buy less from the private sector and to sack staff, there goes public servants, nurses, teachers, engineers, cleaners and craftsmen and women and services... As a result, unemployment remains high, demand is static, and overall business welfare has declined...
The choice to lower tariffs and throw open domestic markets to competition was intended to revitalise our so-called lazy, inefficient industry, while reducing prices for the consumer. Instead it has destroyed our domestic economy, increased imports, and made little impact on prices. There has been a huge loss of full-time "interesting" jobs, all you can get, expect? Is making beds for tourists, insecure, casual and part-time jobs, terrific...
The wrong choice to seek low inflation as a primary goal.. You get high interest rates as soon as the economy expands, specially if Government is determined not to increase taxes or have budget deficits... High interest rates depress demand... Staff are sacked, people wont spend, and unemployment knock-on effects... Recession, again...
The choice to fund business with debt rather than equity leads to expansion in good times, and high returns to shareholders, vastly inflated executive salaries, and more jobs initially. But as the cycle progresses and interest rates rise, it slowly but surely leads to bankruptcies, contraction, downsizing and unemployment, lots of unemployment...
The choice to seek maximum profits leads to minimising costs, you get staff reductions, the exploitation of suppliers, less quality, and reduced customer service... Unemployment rises, but shareholders and executives are happy for a few years until the business dwindles... The smart operators move in to pick over the bones... However the economy overall suffers ...
The choice to minimise Government intervention ignores the fact that governments comprise 30% to 40% of all developed economies through the provision of physical infrastructure like roads, railways, sewage, water, gas, electricity, and the like, through services like health, education, training, support for the aged, the handicapped, the unemployed, through legal systems, through regulation to ensure quality and safety, and through research funds... Spending decision by governments have major impacts. The choice of Small Government, minimum public debt, and privatisation of public assets, has swollen unemployment, and thus provided us with the flat economy, the demand is knocked flat...
The choice for lowest possible prices, with the low tariffs, leads to happiness for the few wealthier people with money, but an overall economic loss to the community as Australian firms shed staff and shift production overseas... Unemployment rises, so do social security payments, families are stressed, and sickness and suicides increase...
The unemployment that blights our beloved country ain't beyond our control, It's is a direct consequence of choices made in the recent past... None of those choices is irrevocable, they can all be changed... Good economic policy must produce good outcomes for everybody, not merely a fortunate few... We always need to remember we live in a society, not just an economy...
Another bucket dropped on the Mad DR Unkempt Hemp of the IdioTlogical PhD thesis which wouldn't pass his own literacy tests, had 200 mangles of the language but got through privatised Yale, 5 would see it shred in true academia, these Tory Turkeys put themselves up as experts in expression, and theories of everything and then saddle the country with the Jobs Network craziness, the latest little lesson has it that a charitable organisation finding jobs for free will be taken to the Competition Commission, being the latest manifestation of the Inquisition, there it is deciding that Unions are It's ideological enemies, and now the charity workers, what's it gonna do, sue them, or burn them at the stake? It's the bad Drs who are headed for a stretch on the rack... Is Unkempt Hemp in bed with Hilmer? What a horrible thought...
Had another little tour through the homelife if not bedrooms of the Beazley's, a thoroughly decent bloke who had a thoroughly unhappy first marriage to the extent of it being one of the twenty catholic reasons it's ok to break some other rules that seemed to have been left off the other Ten Billion Commandments, wonder what the other twenty are? The exceptions to godstreuth, it's a lot simpler to just obey gravity, but Kim came through it all intact and Peter Fitzimmon's new book has it all you'd expect... 'Twill be such a relief to have a decent person as Prime Minister again, as against that Little Debacle there momentarily... Didja hear that Tory Turncoat say it was the Little Missus running the Little PM? She was the Gun Buy Back? Little Missus Backfire must be the Kitchen Cabinets in Domestic Politics... She'll be going for Dame spose... Could launch a Tom Thumb... Didja hear Keating, ha, it was Mr Magoo without the good intentions...
The Earth's wobble and Sea Levels, the earth being a plastic bubble ballooning around it's axis, flattening out and bulging up, it's a plasticy thing and the water levels are up and down hundreds of metres at odd spots as well as the ice ages uniformly all over? Sounds reasonable, takes a long time though...
Wonder how the story about Central Australia is going, the new story we'd like to know is what happened in Central Australia when the first humans were living with the Giant Fauna? Must've been enough luxuriant vegetation and fresh water lakes and rivers to support wombats like elephants? Kangaroos like sabre toothed tigers? And then the Fire Stick arrives clutched in the hands of humanity... Farming they reckon and fire and deforestation, clearing, and 60,000 years later it's buried under a couple of metres of silt in a desert? What has been done? Makes you wonder when people are living in deserts what attracted their ancestors in the first place... It would start with plenty of food and water...
Most beautiful wintry days for ages, wind and sun after the wet, green and puddles, found some new tracks up the bush and those long walks are fabulous, but the mountains are snowing again, the inland rivers are carrying a few flood peaks, looks like Menindee Lakes Wetlands will be filled again, the Murray-Darling Mouth might have to open, been closed for months, the La Nina is kicking in, while from the Northern Hemisphere it's fires and heat, the hottest days of heatwaves ever they say, the electricity drag for air conditioning, while over in China it's straining the Yangste, what a big river to damn... Poor China having the Capitalists move in and kill off their Jobs For Life From The Iron Rice Bowl... They will have to step back from the brink...
What a secret, don't tell, We can't announce it, You don't know the details, So you can't talk about it, GST is being drip fed... What a critical pounding it's getting, and Labor has finally got more to say and bombing the GST is a synch... And the Media has changed it's tune? You have to say the Media is just full of criticism for the current Eco-Rat System and fear and loathing for how it's changing to Globalisation, the big picture speakers are getting a lot of airtime, everywhere, radio and TV, there's a sort of revolution in talk going on, the mesmerised hold on "Everyone Says" such and such has dissolved to slush, there's a whole lot of opinions coming through, looks like speaking with Eco-Rat Globalism leanings is freaking people out, it's treated now with absolute derision, so it should be...
The Boys Club will be on the Our ABC with a series on the Top Floor?, Has the Entrepreneurs fiddling about with OPM, Other Peoples Money and how Westpac lost it's head, and the clique got the flick, and the sharks moved in, should be interesting, it all started with bank deregulation and the Labor Right let it all go on and shake the earth, and all along it was still based on perceptions and beliefs and change, letting things change willy-nilly seems to be the hinge pin... It's like the new young warriors bring new blood into the established bored rooms, and bang! The whole thing blows up in their face, well the idea of lethargy and comfort for all the little people hurt and caught up in these money games has come about by being laid off, against their will, thanks a lot, boys...
Can't they give those dopes in sport something to take so they'll just go away, bags of money dangles in the face of invincible youth, and to get it they risk everything, gladiatorial to compete to death, well it's best left to them and the sponsors to work it out, in the dark somewhere... So sue, but don't get taxpayers money for the medical costs of deadly competition, have them pay into Professional Medicare with a 90% levy on earnings... Professional Sport is just another paper bag of dopes you have to avoid, even those ironman triathalons and such, it's getting like that Japanese televised torture to have to watch that stuff... And then the Sydney Dope Olympics sees these wiry figures loaded up on top of the penile Sydney Viagra Tower, wish they'd take a running jump with all that crap, and a powder, and performance enhancing leap into space...
Always enjoy hearing the latest revelations from the Sciences, this time the study of the DNA has it that the Maoris came from at least twenty different women so it was a purposeful settlement, and has a reinforcing effect on the land claims... The Oral Traditions of the Maoris had it so but was poo poohed, by saying they were lost at sea and accidentally came ashore to populate New Zealand... So too the magnificent Professor Paul Davies has it that we all eventuated from mineral munching microbial life from deep within the mantle, seems nobody can really be first, just earlier, it's more likely the result is more important, who's here now on the Planet, and what about all our futures?
Had a another rant and rave with Houie about the Monster Market, if it's the new fire breathing Dragon to be defeated how do you do it? You unite. You all get together to dispose of the threat the Dragon imposes, or at least quieten it down, they can't easily be killed off... You've got to have your Dragons, spose... But you have to gang up sometimes... Cause that was really Andrew Theosophanous's and the Labor Democratic Left's answer too, the Holy Market has grown into such a monster, really the only way to fight it is to gang up, men, women, parties, countries, everyone and everything, just a small matter of mobilising the people of the world, oh my god...
And the lighter airy moments has it that the seekers of enlightenment and wisdom and advice? Had the travelers arrive at The Delphi's Oracle, and it turns out the entire area is subject to a geological phenomenon, the Oracle was hi on methane leaks... It has a property of odor-less-ness in the pure form...
The Sydney Water scare has shown up the issues about privatising Public Necessities - suddenly there's a whole set of conflicts arising and blame and accusations of cost cutting for corporatisation... The water filtering was privatised - the very thing at the heart of the scare, rural drainage or overpopulation pressures has sewerage draining into the water supply infrastructure - how well is it maintained if you're doing it for a buck? Less maintenance spent, more profit?
Upon thinking on all the known members of the Tory Libs, there was only one who spoke with any decency or reason and he's Peter Andren the one who resigned the party, he has a voice they ought to lissen to, the necessity for a decent Opposition in the coming historic years of this Millenium change over would be wise for this country, the So-Called Liberal Party should reinvent itself and change it's name and have leadership from people like Peter Andren...
The Future Is The Kids, and the voice on Life Matters was the retiring leader of the Parents and Citizens, she made a whole lot of sense about how the education was being commercialised, the competitive individualism ideology was taking hold, the Public School System was being run down in order to put into place the privatised schools and thus the consequences of the divided society, as well another trend was into the walled city syndrome, having municipal councils instead of providing amenities for the whole community to be sidetracked into these enclaves, ghettos of the rich, keeping others out, just some amenities for the few... It's a particularly dangerous trend, it lacks the concept of Equality...
Now this, GentlePeople, is some round about thinking out loud... The big gulf opening up in society, what makes people gravitate to each side? What attracts people to the Right and Left, the Left has a sense of community sharing, the Right has a sense of individual pecking order domination, the bossy chain of command and classifications, putting people on lists, calling them all names, discriminating, heard one of the redneck Jocks say that the Little Missus Magoo was the very Definition of Classy, she had Class? Like they have some messiah complex to worship some Holier Than Thou above them all? And they are the Upper Class as perceived by themselves? I look down on people like that...
But it seems half the world is Bossy or aspires to be one of the Bossy, so they'd be Bossy if they Succeed? And half isn't or can't anyway, well whatever the proportions are, thing is, some people still have the Tribal Mind, where there's a sense of beyond yourself, not so much loving yourself greed, but another view of the world, where they're part of it all, and care about the whole broad canvas of life, those other Pecking Order People are so narrow minded and shortsighted and egocentric, that big divide is basic in human nature, and comes to the fore, for example, round the dinner table, when all the kids will know who is the most selfish in the selfish pecking order, so how do you put in the best system to govern?
First thing comes to mind is maybe some split electorate? Like that system they have over in Northern Ireland, those divided minds will never see eye to eye, cause I reckon they are a split of the Right Wing thinking anyway, so bugger them, but what about where their new Parliamentary Politics was divided in two, first you had to sign on, to one side, or the other, and then votes would be cast for the candidates within, the other side does the same, the issues on the Left would include the Tribal Welfare Issues and on the Right they could include the dunno secret unannounced bigotry issues what ever they are, then in Parliament the two irreconcilable sides have to make deals to get things done, to pass by votes from both sides, it seems a majority from the Left plus a majority from the Right would see the thing passed!
If there were two Chambers, a Left Wing Chamber and a Right Wing Chamber, purely based on elections after Signing On to one or the other all through society, it would reflect in the nature of the two chambers, then legislation going back and forth would force a compromise? Or start a war? So how big should a split in society ever grow, whenever one side overrules the other all the damn time that's what eventually happens, conflict, like what's going on now, those Right Wing Freakos are forever making the Left Wing dance to their tune, till the extremists pop up... Spose when the majority gravitate to one side, the gap would evaporate, and have to be redefined? Hmmm, Just thinking how to acknowledge both sides in a system, cripes, there can only be one king then, after all, or is that being uncivilised?
But in the Left Wing Chamber the Greens could get in more easily? Cause over the Right Wing Chamber the Greens would be non-existent and the Resort Developers and Miners would have to congregate, to get a majority from both sides would make for very stringent undertakings, things like Open Slather would disappear...
But who would be your Prime Minister? Have two? Why not, shoulder to shoulder at Public Appearances sharing the load, double indemnity, so could you live without executive government? Probably not, so if both sides elected the Cabinet of Ministers and Prime Minister, they would carry the administrative responsibilities, the Ministerial Departments, wouldn't that ensure that both sides keep to their own patch? Like the Left would elect the Minister for Welfare and the Right would elect the Minister for Minerals, that sort of thing perhaps...
Remember in the ConCon when it happened, the two strings separated? There was a set of votes taken by only the Republicans to decide a few issues, before it came back into the mainstream voting, by avoiding the spoiling votes of those intent on influencing from a biased position... So the Left Wing could develop the majority compromise position, and the Right Wing would do likewise, both positions would have to give way to avoid deadlock and war... Just wondering what you do after the war, or does one side go for a complete genocide, you can guess which one would...
Cause for 100 years since Federation in Ostraya that's sort of what happens with politics, even allowing for the PHONP blimp, which is really just a split amongst the bossy selfish greedy people themselves... Just swollen in the ranks by the desperation of the Welfare State people cause Eco-Ratism destroyed the Welfare State and Protected Industries... It's a bad case of misplaced blame, the Wonky Wuns blame the Whole World and take it out on the ethnics, and the Welfare State people blame the Bib and Bub Guvmints advocating Eco-Rat Poison...
Say you have two sets of electorates, and there were strings of Two Chamber seats, that proportional voting system like Tassie, hmmm, Nope, none of that works cause if most people go to one side or the other they will claim a mandate, and besides who says what the issues are on each side, who would agree to the Platforms? Third Parties? How does the third voice get aired in either Chamber? Majority rules then, you'd better get the good people all together on one side...
Interesting how the system we've got there now works, the Two Party Preferred System, breeds peace until it erupts, till there really is a three ring circus, like Queensland could have been so different with a three ring circus... What if there's a three ringed circus nationally? Likely more so than now with the Coalition disintegrating, it's a Coalition Split we are having... Triangulation... What if each Party had a Party Majority and then there had to be a majority of Parties then to pass legislation? Oh jesus, but these things make interesting wrestles of the way to go for the next Millennium, what would ConCon have had to say this year about our Ostrayun Constitution with the rise of Wun Nasty Nation?
