Another Guest On Background Briefing

Just heard another guest on Background Briefing who speaks with such a stark reality again, another one to hear, he was a pollie in Canada and wrote those expose books on the ways of the world, said how the rich nations all built their wealth with tariff walls and now preach them down for everyone else, how jobs, security, careers, and all the union won benefits had been exported for imported debts, how the private banks print more money than ever, you put up collateral and they press a button and money appears in your account, he told how the bureaucracy was still Yes Ministering alternative governments, and how the IMF and world bank are laying down the rules of how all the debtors have to live, and how that's Central Planning which failed in the communism experiment, he told how the third world debt was just more colonialism, suggested how a one percent increase in reserves by the banks, for fifty months would allow the debt burden to be evened out again, made a heap of sense, he has an Action Party or some such political group to herald the news...

Failure To Excise Books And Newspapers From The Anti-Labor Government's GST

The Australian Democrats' failure to excise books and newspapers from the Anti-Labor Government's GST package has divided their leadership, been condemned by the Labor Opposition and outraged the Australian publishing industry. But so what, this Fundie Government don't care in the slightest, it's the dogma running the agenda...

All Holding Hands, Must Be Two Hundred, Big Circles All Over The Quay Park, And Go Into The Snake Dance

Yes, on the way back from the Rocks there's this music, so I stand in the middle and groove, it's great, a real throb, all these pretty young things cavorting about, ages it takes, wonderful, but then this guru pops up and starts waffling, and I stand in the back, they all sit, and I don't obey, so the guru gets everyone up then, like I caused it cause I wouldn't sit, and there's this huge circle, it forms with all holding hands, must be two hundred, big circles of handholding people all over the Quay Park, and they go into the snake dance, running sort of sideways, skipping about swerving in and out, on the run, and keeping a grip and not breaking the chain, was really good, the night was perfect too, and the music really takes you away, we went so fast, some kids were dragged into the air, their legs hardly touching the ground...

The Republic Debate With A Direct Electionist, What Weird Ideas He Has, Like Some Warped Conspiracy Theorist, And The Whole Direct Electorate Babble

Heard a program dealing with the church in Ireland, what a hopeless joke that's been, and then the Republic Debate with a Direct Electionist, what weird ideas he has, like some warped conspiracy theorist, and the whole direct electorate babble about not trusting the people you elect, so elect just one? They all think they get their own messiah? Thing is, to see all these opinionated people sitting in the same room and having to listen to each other's garbage thinking is bad enough, but there's that snarly monarchist woman from Melbourne bitching as well, she has that right-wing rudeness built in, and nags, a real snotty nosed monarchical madness she's got, but then there's a ray of light and intelligence and clarity with Malcolm making all the sense, and the poor man has to deal with all the exasperation of being assailed by idiots... He's a treasure...

Poor Dawkins Despairs That There Are Still All These Pseudo Scientists Around Still, Going On With All Their Intuitive Crap And Not Being Prepared To Test Their Belief

Scary thing it is to have deranged minds of the fundies being outspoken and having to be heard by the gullible, spose that's a brain wiring thing, they get certain ideas fed to them young and become certain over something completely refutable, the Memes of Superstition and Religion... Like there was Dawkins also talking of it, so disappointed that at this end of the millennium, after having the scientific ideas tested for evolution and bio chemistry and atomic physics and the astronomical information around for everyone, poor Dawkins despairs that there are still all these pseudo scientists around, going on with all their intuitive crap and not being prepared to test their belief... The poor human brain gets written in stone sometimes, the fundamental logic is flawed and stays flawed, as well they don't want to believe anything else... God forbid...
