It Was A Good Weekend At The Major's Creek Music Festival
Back, 550 k and made it alive, barely, but then it was a good weekend at the Festival, there was the Campsite Godfather who was the erector, builder, and provider, he brought his caravan and had a big annex and was all set up and the regulars all new him, there were minstrels doing world tours and being famous amongst their peers...
A Whole New Sub-Culture
This was a whole new sub-culture to me, the people were countrified, and rough and ready, and smoked, and wore beards, and hats and had looks, and were eccentrics all, in a way, and good hearted too, there was a Qld copper once, and old and young blokes and ladies dressed to please themselves, and very good looking, and kids who could run about free and in fun, never heard any kids being scolded, seemed to be those good hearted parental type of people, and the guiding advise in introducing yourself into this culture was somehow reserved, and one of them was warning me to be politically incorrect all the time...
Sat In On The Sessions And Met Some Real Musos
Sat in on the sessions and met some real Musos, there's a few talented people from out of the crowd sit round in the pub and tunes just evolve out of some inspiration, or ego, or favourites, or mischief, and gradually all these other aspiring players turn up, and everyone joins in, and away it goes, a session, and all sorts of instruments take part, and then mysteriously each tune sort of stops or goes through all kinds of changes and interpretations, before another one starts up, and the beers flow, and the fog rolls in, and the fires light the night, and the kids dance about, and the hours roll by into the early morning, and people watch and listen and wish... They say these Music Festivals are on all over, it's huge magic...

The Festival Was Mounted In A Sportsground
The Festival was mounted in a Sportsground with a Pub Bar and a Hall and an old stoned church was another stage, some large tents where there were concerts, performances of the professionals, and other themes like Morris dancers and Line Dances, the fires were made in steel drums with musical designs cut in them to glow, across from the sports-ground were farmlands and remnant forests, full of tents and vans and buses, it was a great site...

One of the classics was the Poet's Corner each morning in the Pub, so cute, all these unlikely lassies and lads coming out with all these outrageous stories and such, such characters too, and born to it, they shared that Bard gene spose, there were some classic moments there, some long jokes and amazing punch lines...
So Well Organised
It was so well organised, and met a woman who helps manage the Festival, and the woman pub owner, and so many people really, so many performances to program and so much equipment to set up and power up and light up, was really well done...
