In Florida, the whole election debacle could be sheeted home to Ralf Nader and then the crooked Republicans who don't respect democracy in any case and are a pack of collusive deviates and conspiracy theorists gone wrong, will be out of the White House... The other drop dead stupid system America has is non-preferential, first past the post voting, where you can't vote for what you really want, but looking at Americans in general you can't expect anything too brainy to be adopted... Like here in Australia it's preferential where you number the candidates from one to whatever and if your No. 1 vote exhausts, then the 2nd preference applies and so on... It makes for a more certain result for choice in democracy, poor dopes in the USA just don't get it... With preferential voting the Green vote for Ralf Nader would translate into a vote for the 2nd preference, hopefully for the Democrats, and it makes the Big Two Parties take more notice of the smaller parties and is better for democracy...
